COLLEAGUES will attempt to circumnavigate the Isle of Man non-stop on foot in memory of their popular former boss.

Workers from Simplybiz financial services, based at the Galpharm Stadium, are taking part in the 85-mile Parish Walk.

Kelita Crocker, Lisa Worthington and Rachel Stobbs have set themselves the gruelling challenge of walking through each of the island’s 17 parishes within 24 hours.

They will be joined by Tim Elgar, of event sponsors Scottish Widows, to take part in the event in memory of their former managing director Ian Thorneycroft.

Mr Thorneycroft died from colon cancer in May last year, at the age of 54.

Simplybiz head of compliance Kelita, 30, said: “He was an absolutely amazing guy, a fantastic boss and such an inspiration. He was so popular.”

The foursome are raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support, which helped Mr Thorneycroft in the last months of his life.

The walk starts at 8am on Saturday. There are more than 1,000 entries each year consisting of teams and individuals.
