TWELVE singers will be aiming to prove they are top of the pops in Huddersfield at the local heat of a national singing competition.
The Huddersfield round of This Is Your moment 2004 will take place at Jumpin Jaks, Folly Hall, on Sunday April 4.
The national event has attracted more than 2,000 entries across the country.
Performers In Huddersfield have been whittled down to the final 12 over the past month.
The winner will go onto the northern regional final in Halifax.
At stake is a place at the national final in May, with prizes worth £10,000 including a record deal with Efektive Records and a national tour.
Jumpin Jaks manager Stuart Fergie said: "The standard of singers has been very high.
"I wouldn't like to be a judge in the final because there hasn't been much to choose between the best performers over the past month. It has been a very successful competition for Jumpin Jaks, both locally and nationally.
"We are all looking forward to see who will be our representative at the regional final."
