SONGSTERS from a Huddersfield school are representing Britain in a world wide music festival this week.
The 50-strong choir from All Saints Catholic College are taking part in the 5th World Choir Games in Graz, Austria.
They are among representatives of 93 nations and 441 ensembles competing on the international stage in the event this week.
After months of rehearsals and performances, nine choirs including All Saints competed in a spectacular singing competition at the Royal Albert Hall in April.
All Saints Catholic College beat off very strong competition to come first in the competition and to represent the UK in Austria.
Allison Schofield, the choir’s administrator said: “This gives choir students the experience of a life time and gives them the chance to meet and compete against choirs from different parts of the world.
“If the winners are dependent upon time, effort and commitment then All Saints should certainly win a Gold Medal”.
