Skelmanthorpe day Nursery manager achieves new Early Years award

A NURSERY owner has received a new qualification in childcare.

Rebekah Clee, who runs Hawthorns Private Day Nursery in Skelmanthorpe with Zoe Barrow, studied for the ‘Early Years Professional Status’ qualification at Huddersfield University after completing a nursery diploma and a degree.

It involved written and interview-based assessment. Rebekah was also monitored in the nursery and interviews with other practitioners who work there and the parents of the children were conducted.

Rebekah said: “This is a very new qualification and I am proud that we are able to offer it in our nursery. We believe it will raise the standards of care and education for children by leaders gaining the qualification.”
