A MOTHER tragically found her son dead on the lounge floor.

Jeremy Ingham, of Back Clifton Road in Marsh, died from overdosing on the painkiller Dihydrocodeine.

Yesterday a Huddersfield Inquest heard the details surrounding the 37-year-old’s death.

Mr Ingham’s mother Hazel Ingham, from Skelmanthorpe, had gone to visit her son on November 12 last year.

A statement from Mrs Ingham, which was read out to the court, said she found her son lying on the floor in the front room and there was a vodka bottle and beer cans strewn nearby.

The paramedics who attended the scene found the box of Dihydrocodeine. A toxicologist found very high levels of the drug in Mr Ingham’s body.

The inquest heard how Mr Ingham, a labourer, had once talked of suicide and had an alcohol problem.

Prof Paul Marks, deputy coroner for Huddersfield, recorded a verdict of accidental death.

He said he wasn’t satisfied Mr Ingham had deliberately tried to take his own life.

He said Mr Ingham had previously hurt his arm falling down the stairs and could have been taking the pills to stop the pain, but may have taken too much.
