A PUB licensee and his fiancee have walked the length of the UK for charity.

Steve Kerr, 50, who runs The Rose & Crown at Cop Hill, Slaithwaite, and Jane Wilson raised £2,600.

They completed the 1,111-mile walk from John O’Groats to Lands End in aid of Cancer Research.

They undertook the challenge, which took them 91 days, after Steve’s mum Sandra Brown was diagnosed with cancer.

Steve said: “It was tough at times but great fun and it was well worth it, even though our legs and feet ached at the end.”
