A HUDDERSFIELD dental practice is holding a fun day to promote National Smile Month.

The Integrated Health Practice is holding the event on June 10 in its grounds on Halifax Road, Edgerton.

Dental staff and nutritionists will be there to advise people about how a healthy diet and lifestyle can improve the condition of their teeth.

The event ties in with National Smile Month's theme of Feed Your Smile.

The British Dental Health Foundation usually only runs National Smile Week. But it extended it to a month this year to mark the campaign's 30th anniversary.

It runs until June 13.

The Huddersfield Giants rugby league team have got on board with the Feed Your Smile campaign and are going to many oral health events around Huddersfield.

Club mascot Big G will be at the Integrated Health Practice on June 10.

Rugby balls signed by the Giants team will also be given away as prizes for local children who have entered the practice's competition to design oral health posters.

There will also be a bouncy castle, a magician and children's games at the event, as well as information stalls and food-tasting sessions.

Julie Curtis, from the practice, said: "It is going to be a fun day to promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle and diet.

"It runs from 11am to 2pm, so everyone will have time to get back for the World Cup football!"
