HUDDERSFIELD Town Academy coach Ashley Berry (above) will be taking part in the Great North Run a week tomorrow.

The 42-year-old, from Shelley, has never run in a major race before, but hopes that the past six months' training will help him finish the 13-mile race from Newcastle to South Shields in under three hours.

Ashley, who also coaches Ossett Albion, is raising money for the charity What's Driving It?, which pays for research into Parkinson's Disease.

He came into contact with its research team, based at King's College, London, after his father was diagnosed with the disease more than a year ago.

Ashley will be running in his full Huddersfield Town strip and be advertising the charity.

He is married to Christine and the couple have two children, 20-year-old Kirsty and Liam, 17.
