SOLDIER Stephen Henderson-Velma will soon jet out to an Army base on Cyprus.
L-Cpl Henderson- Velma, 33, who is in the Royal Lancashire Regiment, is currently based at Catterick barracks in North Yorkshire.
He joined the Forces at 17.
He is married to Amanda and the couple have two children, Jamie, aged 11, and five-year-old Emma.
L-Cpl Henderson- Velma was adopted by Janet Velma, 67, and husband, Bob, 72, of Paddock, when he was four.
The couple have another adopted son, Richard, who is 35 and lives in Milnsbridge.
L-Cpl Henderson- Velma studied at Royds Hall School, Paddock.
"He has done service in Northern Ireland and Bosnia and we are very proud that he has done well in the Army," said Mrs Velma.
