THIEVES have raided 11 cars in Oakes and Berry Brow, stealing valuables.

They smashed the windows of five vehicles in Oakes and snatched CD players and CDs.

They also took a £2,500 Panasonic satellite navigation system from one car.

On the same night in Berry Brow six cars were broken into.

Goods stolen included a Dell laptop computer and the bonnet and spotlights from a Subaru Impreza.

Police are not linking the two crime spates.

Pc Dave McSweeney, of Huddersfield police said: "People need to be aware that if they are offered CDs or CD players they could be stolen.

"It is also a lesson that you should never leave anything valuable in your car."
