GUESTS are encouraged to speak out about injustice at a Holocaust Memorial Day conference.

Speak Up, Speak Out, at Huddersfield Town Hall on Tuesday, January 24, invites visitors of different ethnic and social backgrounds to discuss racial issues and fight against prejudice and discrimination.

The event includes a performance by Ice and Fire Theatre Company and a chat between Muslim students and Jewish Holocaust survivors about Muslim families who helped Jewish families during World War Two.

There will be a talk about a visit made by hearing impaired people from Kirklees to Gaza’s only deaf school.

Meanwhile Colne Valley MP Jason McCartney pledged his commitment to remembering The Holocaust by signing the Book of Commitment at Parliament.
