POP star Nikk Mager will be swapping his stage gear for soccer kit next month.

He will be putting his boots on to take part in a football spectacular.

The Greetland singer and his newcomer band Phixx will be among a star squad of players -including Liberty X - showing off their football skills at Leeds United's Elland Road stadium on Sunday, May 16.

Nikk, a 19-year-old former student at Huddersfield Grammar School, and his band got together after finishing runners-up in the TV series Popstars: The Rivals.

Their debut single, Hold On Me, released in October, was followed by Love Revolution last month.

Their debut album, due for release at the beginning of May, has now been put back to the end of the month.

Now, Nikk and the band are tuning up for the 10th Soccer Six family fun day, when a host of celebrities show off their ball skills to raise money for the Prince's Trust and Give A Child A Chance charities.

Similar events will be in Liverpool and Reading.

In previous years, stars such as Robbie Williams, Blue, Iron Maiden, Westlife, Ant and Dec and Rod Stewart have battled alongside sporting heroes such as boxers Lennox Lewis and Chris Eubank and England soccer star Peter Beardsley.

Tickets can be bought by phoning a hotline, 0870 100 0000, or the Leeds Ticketline on 0113 244 6677.
