OLD soldiers from Huddersfield took a trip to Scarborough.

The Huddersfield and District Army Veterans Association organises a trip every year which alternates between resorts on Britain's east and west coasts.

More than 50 men who had served in the Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force enjoyed the VIP day out which included a stop at Imphal Barracks in York, the Army's regional headquarters.

They had lunch with the mayor of Scarborough at the seafront Southland Hotel before exploring the town.

Most of the group served during World War Two, although there were others who completed post-war National Service or had served in more recent conflicts such as the Korean War.
