FUNDRAISERS met in Milnsbridge to gather support for a lifeboat crew.
A special evening, with a musical "free and easy" session as well as raffles and collections, was staged at Milnsbridge Socialist Club, on Bankwell Road, to raise cash for the Runswick Bay Rescue Boat.
Runswick Bay is 10 miles north of Whitby and the inshore rescue boat is not sponsored by the RNLI, so all funds have to be raised by volunteers.
All lifeboat crew and committee work is done voluntarily.
The evening was organised by club member Nick Scaife, who said: "We have been raising money for the rescue boat for some years. Last year's effort raised £500 on the night." This year's total has not yet been announced.
