A SPECIAL day at the LBT showcased the talent of young people in Huddersfield.

The Technicolor Dream Day at the LBT showed the extent of the theatre’s community work through its education and outreach department.

One of the main projects is its community partnership with the Ashbrow ward with funding from the Deighton Brackenhall Initiative and the LBT has been working with several groups.

This has included projects with Ashbrow Infants School, Brackenhall Kidz and Teenz Klub, Playmates Nursery and young people from Whitacre Close who have been dancing and acting, balancing and juggling.

These youngsters along with the LBT’s Youth Theatre showed people their skills in the theatre and the courtyard outside.

Deighton Brackenhall Initiative Chief Officer Andi Briggs said: “This shows what we always knew – that people of Deighton, Brackenhall and Sheepridge have an abundance of creative talent and the LBT’s professional support has allowed them to realise their potential.’’
