SPEEDING motorists will be given the chance to “go back to school” rather than pay a fixed penalty fine.

A new speed awareness course, to be launched on October 13 by West Yorkshire Police, will give speeders the chance to learn about their offence and the dangers of speeding.

The course is for errant motorists who marginally exceed the speed limit and take part in the course rather than getting three points on their licence and paying a £60 fine.

The launch will include previous course participants from other regions who will talk about their experiences.
