POLICE have warned speeding drivers in Rastrick: “We will catch you.”

Officers armed with speed detection guns have been targeting drivers in the area.

Local residents had complained of problems with speeding cars in Huddersfield Road and Daisy Road.

Now police patrols in the area have been stepped up and officers are determined to make safety a top priority.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “We are determined to reduce the number of speeding motorists using Huddersfield Road and Daisy Road.

“Pc Dawn Sutcliffe and members of her team have been carrying out checks on both roads, and others in the area, monitoring the speed of drivers.

“They will be out again with the speed indication device and also the handheld speed detection gun.

“We have reacted to concerns by local residents,” he added.
