WHATEVER the weather, youngsters aged eight to 15 can get sporty this half-term with a range of indoor activities organised by Kirklees Sports Development.

Four days of sports hall athletics will be held at The Barn at Leeds Road Playing Fields from Monday.

The daily sessions of running, throwing and jumping events will be from 10am to noon with awards being given for individual achievements.

The sessions cost £5 a day or £15 for all four days.

Multi-sports sessions will also being held from 1 to 4pm at Rawthorpe High School and Earlsheaton Technology College, Dewsbury, on Monday and Tuesday and at Deighton Arena on Wednesday and Thursday next week.

Youngsters will get the chance to try football, netball, basketball and other sports in the sessions which are free.

There will also be a cricket camp for eight to 13-year-olds at Almondbury High School on Thursday next week from 1 to 4pm.

Hopes are that the camp will help establish an under-13 cricket team in Almondbury.
