HAVE you always been fascinated by the history of Huddersfield? Then a new evening course at Huddersfield University might be the thing for you.

It will be taught by Mrs Hilary Haigh, editor of the 1992 book, Huddersfield: A Most Handsome Town (which is also the name of the course), and Dr John Hargreaves, author of the soon-to-be-published book Huddersfield.

Covering the history of the town from the 14th to the 21st century, it has specialist tutors and runs for 12 weeks.

A preparatory study evening will be held on September 13 at 7pm in Room ZG/20 in West Building of the main University campus in Queensgate where you can meet the tutors, discuss the course and enrol. The cost is £200. Those on low income (less than £14,500 a year) or on benefits can enrol for free.
