BATLEY Art Gallery will this week see the return of Dewsbury Arts Spring Exhibition following a two-year gap.

The gallery will be hosting the spring exhibition of work by Dewsbury Arts Group until March 21.

The group’s show has been a major event in the visual arts calendar of the Heavy Woollen Area for many years, and this year is promised to be the best.

The exhibition will comprise 80 works by local artists including Mary Follows, John Lewis, Susan King, Denis Palmer and Andrew Barret.

Karen Stansfield, whose artwork Flutterings features on this year’s exhibition poster, is pleased to be exhibiting once again.

She said: “It’s really nice to be part of the group, to meet with the other artists and show our work together.

“I love the space at Batley and think we’ll be able to put on a great show there.”

Further information about the exhibition can be found on the group’s website www.dewsburyartsgroup.com, or by contacting Batley Library on 01924 326021.

The gallery is situated on the first floor of the Batley Library building and is accessible via stairs or lift.
