CHILDREN have been learning how to make music using everyday objects like paper clips.
Sonic artist Duncan Chapman is working with Year 6 pupils from Spring Grove Junior, Infant and Nursery School to produce a composition.
It will be performed this week as part of Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival.
Teacher Shazia Azhar said: “Duncan is helping the children produce sounds using things like paper clips and then they compose music.
“They are using computers to create various effects like echoes.
“It allows the children to be very creative and they can explore sounds they’ve never heard before.”
Their composition will be performed at Huddersfield Art Gallery on Thursday at 11.30am.
It will also be available online at www.musicofelectricity.net.
