Spring-like weather across Huddersfield has seen a host of new arrivals.

Sheep have been giving birth to lambs all over the region.

And staff at Cannon Hall Farm at Cawthorne have already welcomed dozens of new arrivals among the many different types of sheep they have.

Many of the newborn lambs are still being kept indoors under special heat lamps but some of the hardier ones have been out in the fields around the farm in the sunshine.

And staff at Cannon Hall are hoping for even more on Friday, March 18, when they host their annual Lambing Live event.

People will be able to get grandstand views of the ewes giving birth in the farm sheds.

Farm spokesman Richard Nicholson said: “We’ve already had a number of lambs born at the farm and expect more over the course of the next week or so.

“The Lambing Live event is on Friday of this week and people will be able to see lambs being born into the wee hours of Saturday morning, as we are staying open until 3am.

“It will also provide the unique opportunity to experience the atmosphere of a farmyard at night.”
