A MAN accused of using a spy pen to film his stepdaughter in the bathroom has appeared in court to face further charges.

The 46-year-old was before Huddersfield magistrates yesterday.

The man had already appeared accused of making indecent images of his stepdaughter and two children in his care.

An earlier hearing was told that the alleged offences were uncovered when the man’s stepdaughter returned home from university.

The girl is said to have found a spy pen camera while she was using the bathroom.

Police allegedly found images of the student going to the toilet and using the bathroom.

The man, who now lives in Bradford, is also alleged to have made images of two children staying with the family.

He also allegedly contacted a 16-year-old girl on a social networking site and took pictures of her naked and simulating a sex act.

The alleged offences took place between January 2010 and April 2011 in Huddersfield.

The man was due to have his case committed for trial at crown court yesterday.

However magistrates were told that he now faces additional charges of making indecent images.

Vanessa Schofield, prosecuting, said that these alleged offences are dated between September 2009 and September 2011.

She said: “Two hard drives were seized at the time as a result of the initial images being discovered.

“These included some pictures of a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old.

“The crown says that the new charges are not suitable to be dealt with here.”

The man made no indication as to what his plea will be.

Magistrates agreed to adjourn the case so that all of the charges can be tied together to be sent to crown court.

The man will next be before the court on February 6 for a committal hearing.

His bail conditions are that he does not enter Huddersfield as defined by the ring road or named streets.

He is also banned from unsupervised access to children under 18 and using social networking sites.
