A HUDDERSFIELD fountain will be activated on St George’s Day.

Kirklees Council yesterday confirmed that the cascade on St George’s Square would be turned on again on England’s national day. The £230,000 fountain, which is the centrepiece of a £5m revamp of the square, was switched off for the winter. The cascade was turned on last St George’s Day, but spent much of the summer out of action after when one of its pumps broke in July.
