A STAMP exhibition has inspired a week of art activities to be held at the Tolson Museum.

Staff at the Moldgreen attraction took inspiration from the styles of artwork featured in its Signed, Sealed, Delivered exhibition for its week of activities being held to mark this year’s Big Draw, the country’s biggest free art event.

Penny Black, being held from October 22 to 26, will invite people of all ages and abilities to create two large-scale art pieces.

They will be a doll’s house-style drawing of the museum and a hanging mobile.

People can make outline drawings of items relating to the museum’s collections which will be turned into small silhouettes to be included in the drawing and mobile.

They will then be able to keep souvenir copies of their silhouettes as a reminder of the event.

Activities are from 11.30am to 3.30pm each day and people can drop in at any time.

The Big Draw is taking place in venues across Britain throughout this month.

It aims to get everyone drawing by showing that it can be a public activity as well as a private passion.

Signed, Sealed, Delivered, which celebrates the centenary of Huddersfield Philatelic Society, is on show at the museum until January.
