PEOPLE can get up-to-the-minute information about problems on West Yorkshire’s roads at the click of a mouse.
West Yorkshire Casualty Reduction Partnership is now offering on-line traffic and travel information to help drivers steer clear of delays and problems on the roads.
The service can be accessed via the partnership’s website, www.safetycameraswestyorkshire.co.uk and provides information about daily roadworks and delays, the latest traffic alerts on crashes and diversions along with bus and train travel information.
The site also includes news on road safety and casualty reduction measures in West Yorkshire including information on speed cameras and links to where the county’s mobile camera patrols will be operating in the days ahead.
Philip Gwynne from West Yorkshire Casualty Reduction Partnership says the information is designed mainly for commuters.
“Drivers will find it particularly useful to check road conditions on their journey before setting out,” he said.
The service will be provided for six months to see if people really want to use it.
They can give their views on a comments page on the website.
