A DALTON dancer is to study ballet at the leading Hammond School in Chester.

Sixteen-year-old Stephanie Webb (pictured), of Arlington Way, begins her studies in September after successfully auditioning for a place.

Stephanie, who attends King James School, Almondbury, has been a pupil at Georgie School of Dance in Shelley for three years, and previously danced with the Barbara Peters School in Huddersfield.

Last year Stephanie danced against 200 other hopefuls to win a place with the Yorkshire Youth Ballet and the chance to attend weekly sessions with former professional dancers.

Stephanie lives with her mum and dad Darren and Jane and two brothers Michael, 15 and Rhys, 12.

The family are looking for sponsorship to help fund the three-year course at Hammonds. Contact Mr Webb on 07866266537.
