MIRFIELD'S mayor is renowned for whipping up political controversy.
But now he is preparing to stir up a delicious dessert rather than another council debate.
Clr Martyn Bolt is getting out his pudding bowl and wooden spoon for Mirfield Show in a bid to win the men-only cooking contest.
He will be entering a chocolate cake in the domestic competition.
"I'm no Gordon Ramsay - but I'll try anything once," he said.
And for those chaps who only go to the kitchen to grab a beer from the fridge, the recipe is helpfully being printed on the back of the show schedule.
The show is on Sunday, August 22, at the showground on Huddersfield Road.
