AN Easter campaign to tackle obesity has been suggested to families in West Yorkshire.

They are being urged to sign up and fight back against obesity, instead of tucking into chocolate eggs.

As part of a number of new initiatives set up across the region as part of the Change4Life programme young people and their families are being encouraged to eat well, move more and live longer.

Paul Johnstone, Regional Director for Public Health in Yorkshire and the Humber, said: “Change4Life aims to get the whole family involved and shows how making a number of small, easy changes can add up to make a real difference to your family’s health.”

The Yorkshire region has the fastest projected growth in obesity and it has been predicted it will shortly have the most obese population in England.
