A HUDDERSFIELD supermarket is celebrating raising over £1,000 for charity.

Since announcing The Nerve Centre as their chosen charity of the year, staff and customers at Sainsbury’s at Market Street in Huddersfield town centre has been busy raising funds.

In the last six months, the store has raised more than £1,000.

Events included a Yorkshire Day event which raised £400.

Store manager Colin Meah said: “It’s been fantastic to see the way everyone’s pulled together since we started raising money for The Nerve Centre.

The store now plans a Halloween day.

The Nerve Centre, based at Half Moon Street, works to support people with neurological conditions.
