ANOTHER Huddersfield car park has received an award for its security.
The Sainsbury’s store at Shore Head has received a Park Mark Award, bring the town’s total to 11.
The car park at Sainsbury’s store on town centre Market Street already has the award.
Car parks which have received the award ensure drivers can put their vehicles in a well-maintained and safe area.
The Safer Parking Scheme is run by the British Parking Association for the Association of Chief Police Officers.
It was developed to provide a benchmark standard for all parking areas across the UK, to create safer parking areas for people and their vehicles.
The award is granted to car parks that have been risk-assessed by the police.
It signifies the high standards of safety in place and aims to reassure people they can return to their vehicles and find them exactly as they left them.
Becky Lowrey, duty manager of Sainsbury’s at Shore Head, said: “We are delighted to have been presented with the award.
“We can now accommodate all our customers so they can have a space to park while they shop.”
