KIRKHEATON Parish Church will be holding a charity concert in aid of work which the church supports for street children in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.

The concert on Saturday will start at 7.30pm and will feature a range of popular and classical music, including pieces from Phantom of the Opera.

Also featuring will be professional musicians who sing with the Leeds Philharmonic and the BBC as well as other local musicians.

Rector of Kirkheaton, Richard Steel, said: “We support a local couple, Tim and Kate Lee, who set up a project for street children in Manila.

“The stories we hear about the children are both heart wrenching and heart warming.”

Tickets are not needed and people can turn up on the night.

There will be more information on “Jigsaw ministries”, the project set up by Tim and Kate Lee.

A collection will be taken for the children during the concert.
