A HUDDERSFIELD marathon runner is boosting her fundraising efforts - by auctioning off a script from the popular TV soap Coronation Street.

Amanda Salter, 39, has put scenes from the show up for sale on internet site eBay in a bid to raise more cash for charity.

The script - signed by cast members - was donated by a friend who works on the set.

It includes scenes yet to be broadcast following the murder of character Tommy Harris.

Amanda, of Newland Road, Kirkheaton, hopes the script will raise more money for the charities she is running for in the London Marathon on April 17.

The married mother-of-three will be raising cash for Kirkwood Hospice in Dalton and Cancer Research UK.

She said: "There are some scripts already on the site, but they are about two years old.

"This hasn't even been shown yet so we hope it will raise quite a bit."

The script has been placed on the site with a £50 reserve price. The bidding ends on Sunday.

Other fundraising ventures to boost her sponsorship for the 26-mile run have included a cake sale at Kirklees Council offices and a sweepstake on her finishing time.

She said: "I am hoping to get more than £1,000.

"There is so much riding on the marathon that I am determined to finish it, whether I run, walk or crawl.

"I have never done anything active like this before, but it was something I wanted to achieve before I was 40 this year.

"I feel quite confident. It is a case of when I run it, not if."

Amanda has been training almost every day for the past year and even celebrated Mother's Day this year by completing a 15-mile run.
