THE centre of Honley could take on a new look if an improvement plan is approved.

Designs have been developed by Kirklees Council.

Now they are about to go on show for local people to make their comments.

Ideas include new zebra crossings, half-width parking bays, natural stone flags instead of tarmac pavements and more `traditional' street lighting.

Residents in the village centre will get details in the post, but others can visit a display in the village library at West Avenue from 3pm next Monday until 4pm on Friday June 23.

It will then move on to Honley Village Hall at Roundway on Friday June 23, from 5pm to 8pm, and Saturday June 24 from 9am to 1pm.

Council staff will be on hand at the venue to answer questions.

Questionnaires to register views will also be available at the library and village hall and at Frank Platt (Electrical) at Westgate.
