BUS drivers in Calderdale have voted to accept a revised pay deal, transport group First said today.

The move means a proposed strike tomorrow by Halifax and Todmorden crews has been called off.

The stoppage would have hit passengers using services between Huddersfield and Halifax and serving areas including Brighouse and Elland.

Andrew Scholey, managing director for First in Calderdale said: "Reaching an agreement has been a long and complicated process.

"This is good news for everyone, especially all our customers."

The revised pay deal will cover the period to April, 2008.
