A STUDENT will be hitting the airwaves this week.
Alexandra Booth, 18, of Holmfirth, who goes to Greenhead College in Huddersfield, is one of four finalists being tested live on air during Radio City’s breakfast show in Liverpool this week.
The winner will be announced live at 7.50am tomorrow.
In a special partnership Liverpool Hope University has teamed up with the commercial radio station to provide the winner with a scholarship to cover the full cost of the student’s tuition fees for three years and an internship with the radio station.
The prize includes the opportunity to work across all aspects of the station’s activities, from behind the scenes to commercial marketing and broadcasting.
John McCarthy, director of marketing, recruitment and external relations at Liverpool Hope, said: “We have been very impressed with the calibre of entrants for the scholarship.
“The university’s media degree course is a very popular one and opens up a wealth of career opportunities for its students.”
