BUSINESS students have been making a bang at their work placement.
Huddersfield University students Jonathon Lees, 20, and Sarah Jagger, 21, are spending a year at Black Cat Fireworks in Crosland Moor.
Sarah said: “The business management degree gives a great insight into many different aspects of business. However, working at Black Cat has provided excellent practice of real working situations.
“The opportunities to learn have enabled me to develop my skills, knowledge and experience and I have gained some great contacts for my future working life. This year spent in industry and the invaluable experience it will give me will hopefully make me more employable.”
Standard Fireworks has now opened its factory shop to the public at its Crosland Hill headquarters.
Some are up to 70% off the retail price.
The shop is open from 9am to 6pm on weekdays – and the closing time will be extended to 8pm from October 31 to November 5.
It is open from 9am to 6pm on Saturdays and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
The shop will finally close on November 9.
