STUDENTS from Huddersfield are invited to take part in the first all-student run in Leeds.

More than 5,000 men and women from across the UK are expected to take part in the event which is being organised by Nova International and Leeds Metropolitan University.

The scenic 10km run on Sunday April 30 starts at Headingley Carnegie Stadium and goes through the city centre, finishing up at Beckett Park on the Headingley Campus of Leeds Metropolitan University.

Brendan Foster, chairman of Nova International and the university's chancellor, said "The Great Student Run is a brand new Great Run event in a real student city.

"Over the next 5 years our ambition is to make this event an essential part of the sporting calendar in Leeds and to challenge students from all over the UK to take up the challenge and get involved."
