STUDENTS from Greenhead College in Huddersfield have joined with Kirklees Refugees And Friends Together to produce a newsletter.

The newsletter project forms part of the college's enrichment programme in which students volunteer their services to help the community.

Five students are working on the newsletter, which they hope will be distributed through organisations like Kraft.

The newsletter contains interviews with and help and advice for refugees.

Heidi Johnson, 16, from Batley, one of the students working on the newsletter.

She said that she decided to get involved with the project as it meant that she would be "working with people who really need our help."

Karen Soraci, 17, from Rastrick, said: "My involvement in the project has been enjoyable, but hard work."

Karen speaks three languages, Spanish, French and Italian, and uses her skills to do translation work for the project.

The students and Kraft are looking for local support to ensure that the newsletter can be printed and distributed.

If you can help, please contact Kraft on 01484 353489.
