SUCCESSFUL students are reaping the rewards of a newly-designed room at Rawthorpe High School.

The reward room will be used to praise students for good behaviour, achievement and attendance at school.

They will be given time out in the room during lunch times and after school for positive achievements,

Year ten students Hayden Stock, Daniel Woolnough, Samantha Acton, James Lockwood and Toni-Jade Winkley made a bid to Kirklees Young People’s Service for cash from the Making A Change fund to create the room.

They have then helped to decorate and refurbish the room and kit it out with “rewards”, including a television, games console and computer.

There will also be the chance for students to take part in food preparation and tasting sessions and make their own snacks.
