A GROUP of Huddersfield students has been shortlisted for a national volunteers award.

Edwina Kan, Amy Hubbard, Amy Gethin and Ceri Jones have made it into the final round of the Higher Education Active Community Fund Volunteering Awards.

The group - who are all in the second year of their degree course in fashion, media and promotion at the university - were nominated after organising a fashion show this year.

The show was part of an event celebrating Asian culture and included stalls run by community groups.

The students battled it out against more than 1,000 nominees to make it into the final 43 in the competition.

They will now travel to Gateshead on December 7 to find out if they have won a £200 prize.
