DEWSBURY College celebrated the success of 17 students on its foundation degrees courses as they prepared to return to their professions or go on to higher education.

The graduation ceremony was held at the college’s main campus on Halifax Road for the nine Early Years students and eight Health-Related Exercise and Fitness students.

They were from the School of Health, Social Care and Child Studies and the School of People, Services, Sport, Exercise and Fitness.

The students, aged between 18 and 40 included already-qualified nursery nurses and teaching assistants and bilingual support workers.

They had all completed the two-year full-time foundation degree course through the Working with People system.

The college offers this to improve a student’s professional qualifications or prepare them for Early Years Professional status or top-up degrees at either Huddersfield, Leeds Metropolitan or, Bradford universities.
