TWO new Police Community Support Officers have started work at the Dewsbury and Mirfield Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Carl Hall will cover the Chickenley area and Craig Jacobs will cover Earlsheaton.
Their arrival means 23 PCSOs in total will now work in the Dewsbury and Mirfield Neighbourhood Policing Team.
The aim of their appointment is to clamp down further on anti-social behaviour and provide a reassurance to members of the public.
Neighbourhood Policing Team Inspector Ian Gayles said: “It is an indication of our intentions.
“We have specifically deployed the PCSOs to these areas to provide a high visibility presence to deter potential offenders and reassure the community. We are fully committed to reducing anti-social behaviour as well as providing an opportunity for people to bring to our attention any issues that are affecting their quality of life.
“The PCSO team has been growing steadily over recent months and each officer has their own ward in which they will target hotspot areas.
“In this way, we can be sure that problems are dealt with effectively.”
