THE man accused of murdering Billy Khan in Elland has finished giving evidence at his trial.

Miftah Ul-Haq, 51, of Elizabeth Street, Elland, admitted stabbing the 33-year-old in the abdomen during a clash in the town last August.

But he denies murder.

Ul-Haq completed his evidence yesterday.

The hearing at Bradford Crown Court will resume next Wednesday.

It is expected that counsel in the case will begin their closing speeches later next week.

Ul-Haq has also denied a charge of attempted murder or alternatively wounding with intent in respect of Billy Khan’s brother Yusuf, who was also stabbed during the disturbance in the Poplar Court area.
