POLICE have seized around £6,000 of suspected cannabis from Hoyland near Barnsley after information from a member of the public.

A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the cultivation of cannabis after eight large plants and equipment was found at the property in Hoyland.

He was released on bail to a date in January pending further inquiries.

PC Craig Sumpter, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “We are extremely grateful for the public’s continued support in routing out cannabis factories across Hoyland.

“We urge people to keep contacting us anonymously if they have any information which may help us.”
