A suspected dangerous dog has been seized by police in Gomersal.

Police made the discovery on Friday after they were told there was a banned breed of dog at an address in Shirley Lane.

Working with partners from the council, a warrant was served and the dog seized.  The animal has now been sent away for expert analysis, to determine its true breed.

No arrests have been made and police enquiries are ongoing. In a separate incident Spen NPT helped trace an alleged stolen dog from Cleckheaton Tesco.

A 20-year old woman was later charged with theft and will appear in court later this month.
