A WOMAN with beauty in the family has won the Miss Huddersfield and Halifax title. Suzanne Celensu, 21, won the title in the face of competition from 14 other beauties last night.

The contest, which gives entry to the Miss England title, was held at Jumpin Jaks nightclub in Halifax.

Suzanne, from Lightcliffe, who won the predecessor Miss Halifax competition in 2003, follows a long family tradition of success in beauty competitions.

Her mum Zoe Spink, and her aunt, Gay, were national title holders as well as being international models. Her grandmother Betty Spink was a runner-up Miss Great Britain.

The competition was judged by broadcaster Jon Hammond, Kathy Holdsworth of Sheffield-based DK Models and the Examiner's own Terry George.
