A HUDDERSFIELD swimming club has raised charity cash.
Aqua Strokes organised a fantastic sponsored swim for Macmillan Cancer Support and have just presented the charity with a cheque for £1,799.
The swimming club, which held the event at North Huddersfield Trust School, collectively swam an amazing 41.522 miles (66,820 metres) during the week.
Seven-year-old Emily Newburn, left, and Daisy Hudson, six, both swam a mile in under an hour and were the youngest swimmers to take part.
Ruth Walker, the Aqua Strokes swimming teacher, who came up with the idea for the fundraiser said:
“The Macmillan teams are an essential part of the dealing and healing process and without that support many families and individuals would suffer much more” (S)(S)
