A SUMMIT aimed at protecting young people from crime was being staged by the Tories today.
The youth summit, in London, was looking at how to prevent youngsters getting involved in crime and how to stop them becoming victims.
It was also looking at how to turn round the lives of young people who do turn to crime.
The event was being hosted by Shadow Home Secretary David Davis and Shadow Minister for Young People, Charles Hendry.
Assistant Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, Brian Paddick, and the former chief inspector of prisons, Sir David Ramsbotham, were among the speakers.
