YOUNGSTERS from a Rawthorpe education scheme got a taste of working life.

They were invited to see engineers at work at David Brown Gears in Lockwood.

The invite was sent to pupils at the Ethos unit based at Rawthorpe.

The youngsters were shown around by Brown’s apprentices Ben Julien, Josh Hirst and Zishan Mir.

David Brown started in 1860 as a gear pattern maker. It is now a global business with sales and manufacturing locations throughout the world. Its head office is still in Huddersfield.
